Old Spice on YouTube – VidBiz – E4

Over the weekend I was out filming some rugby games for a mate of mine and while looking online saw all the Old Spice videos on youtube. I was blown away. Here is a company that has the guts to let the creative team run with an idea that was out of the box, tick one – Old Spice.

The videos were responses to comments and questions asked on Twitter, Yahoo Answers and other social media networks, and it was brilliant. If you have not see the check out these examples.

The key take away for me was the combination of social media networks drawn together with online video in short 1 to 2 minute videos. This is something all businesses should start looking at, how can we bring together all the different activities and still be us. Its a challenge but something that I am also working hard to cultivate. Through this video series I want to educate businesses as much as possible about the benefit of online video.
