Confessions of a Cantab

Over the past two weeks I have had the pleasure of capturing a number of high profile sportsmen on camera, 4 from the Canterbury NPC team for the CRFU website, Confessions of a Cantab, and current a current All Black getting some tattooing done at local Christchurch studio Otautahi Tattoo.

In front of the camera they had a great time, joked around and generally tried to lighten the mood around the camera, something some people find very hard. But it really hit home when one of the players was talking about the traditions of rugby and how they are expected to act and appear. The comment was “we’re just people, we like to have a good time, we like to relax before a game also”

It really got me thinking about the sports stars in NZ. Are they really that much different from you an I and if not why do they get so much attention doing “their job”. If you got to see them being human rather an super human would you treat them any differently? Would you perhaps respect them for their ability and appreciate what they go through each day to be the best?

Anyways here is the video of Neemia getting his ink done. Shot on the Kodak Zi8 in 720p HD and featuring the soundtrack Las Vegus Lights Beats by Deff Syndicate.

I hope to have the other up soon.
