Hi and welcome to another article in the VidBiz series, regular articles about online video for business.

In this, the fifth in the series, I am going to talk about a question I had from a friend of mine who asked “Where do I upload my videos once I have finished creating them?” It’s a great question and one that seams very obvious to me but if Andrea is asking this question then there will be many more people asking for the same information.

The obvious answer is YouTube, putting your video on YouTube is a simple process and there are many online guides showing you how to do that, I am not going to cover that in this article. Simply search in Google, “How to upload a video to YouTube” and you will get hundreds of results and videos explaining the process.

What I did want to cover off in this article is a website called TubeMogul.com. What TubeMogul does is, once you have created accounts at a number of video sharing sites, (there is a list on the TubeMogul website once you have an account), allow you to upload your videos in once place and then for your videos to be distributed around the internet to many different websites. For instance the accompanying video version of VidBiz found on YouTube is also available throughout the internet at other video sites. I upload the video to Tubemogul and the site then sends a copy of the video to other sites such as Meta Cafe, Daily Motion and many others.

What does that mean for business?

Well it allows me to reduce my overall time spent deploying my videos around the internet and also allows for increased audiences of my content. My online reach has increased. You need to understand that although YouTube is a large player in the online video space they are not the be all and end all, they are one site amongst many, granted a very big site. Think of it like this, although Starbucks might be the biggest coffee chain in the US not everyone likes what they sell or the way they package their stores. Its the same for video. Although YouTube is the big player not everyone likes how to do things and so to cater for a wider audience it pays to spread your message around.

That’s my tip for this article in the VidBiz series, check out TubeMogul and save yourself some time while increasing the online audience for your content. Note that I have no affiliation to TubeMogul, I just really like what they are doing.

You can use tools to make your uploading experience easier, quicker and less stressful.

If you have any questions about online video please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Hi Jared, thanks for the interest

The video was shot on the Kodak Zi8 under daylight colored studio lights on a black cloth background. There was no colour correction used at any stage, its all straight off the camera. I used a wireless lapel mic just to make sure you can hear me all right.

If you need any more details, suppliers etc, then just let me know and I will email them, phil @ vidhost.co.nz
